TRAIN MUSEUM planning and design
The project is located in Bllacë, within the Municipality of Hani i Elezit, near the former railway corridor and the border crossing with North Macedonia. This site holds strong historical significance, as in 1999, during the Kosovo War, it served as a transit zone for thousands of Albanian refugees
The architectural concept focuses on the restoration and conservation of the existing railway wagons, preserving their material authenticity and historical traces. One wagon has been conserved as a dedicated museum unit, while the others have been adapted into exhibition spaces.
The complex is organized as a clear visitor itinerary, where the exterior space and the interior of the wagons together create a reflective and educational experience, establishing the site as a memorial landmark within the Municipality of Hani i Elezit.
